Styal-gduk Kez (/stjal/ /gduk/ [spy] [current; wave (ocean)]) is a subtropical Large Town located in Rilikvebo Parish, Qěvrìlæh District, within the Federation of Alveria.

The name Styal-gduk Kez is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Styal-gduk Kez was founded by Lorelei Dharda, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Styal-gduk Kez has a yearly average temperature of 17°C (62°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 9°C (48°F). Styal-gduk Kez receives an average of 302 cm/y (118 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Styal-gduk Kez covers an area of nearly 7 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3928 m (12887 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Styal-gduk Kez was founded durring the late 14th century in winter of the year 1282, by Lorelei Dharda. The establishment of Styal-gduk Kez suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Styal-gduk Kez which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Styal-gduk Kez was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Styal-gduk Kez is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Styal-gduk Kez is buildings folow an organic layout of broad cobblestone streets whihch gives the town a shape simmilar to a tree, if one views its streets from above. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Styal-gduk Kez's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. The top tier civilian fortifications has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.

Styal-gduk Kez is a bustling hive of activity. Everyone moves at nothing short of a jog, each convocation is a mile a minute, and there’s dedicated lanes for riding through town in the center of each street. The locals all appear to be not merely occupied, but in a true hurry for everything from drinking a pint of ale to their daily work.

Civic Infrastructure

Styal-gduk Kez has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Styal-gduk Kez. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Styal-gduk Kez's parks.

Styal-gduk Kez has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Styal-gduk Kez.

Styal-gduk Kez possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large Town. Styal-gduk Kez's grid is powered by a boiler and turbine based power plant.

Styal-gduk Kez has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.

Styal-gduk Kez has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Styal-gduk Kez's natural decorations nor waterways.

Styal-gduk Kez has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Styal-gduk Kez has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Styal-gduk Kez has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Styal-gduk Kez's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is inspired by the natural world, characterized by sinuous, sculptural, organic shapes, arches, curving lines, and sensual ornamentation. Common motifs included stylized versions of leaves, flowers, vines, insects, animals, and other natural elements. Decorative elements found on the inside and outside of buildings include intricate mosaic work, curved windows, and decorative trim work. .

In Styal-gduk Kez rainbows form quite often above the Large Town.

The Witherstench near Styal-gduk Kez are known to be quite timid.

Styal-gduk Kez's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves performance art to channel Enchantment energies of tier 3 via speaking in tongues.

Styal-gduk Kez is known for its well built pedestrian paths, which include foot bridges to cross the main street at several high-traffic areas.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century the Kami granted the town a great harvest. One of Styal-gduk Kez's local festivals commemorates this miracle.
